Ogden Marathon & KidsK

These pictures are all backwards as far as order is concerned. The first one is of Corbin, Hayden and I after we all finished our races. Corbin and Hayden had just finished running the KidsK race. They are both wearing cowbells as a reward for finishing. I finished my marathon in 5 hours, I don't know my official time yet, but I think I crossed the starting line 4 minutes after the official start, and I crossed the finish line at 5 hours and 4 minutes.

This is me waiting for Corbin and Hayden to get to the finish line with Grandma Jackson. Unfortunately we didn't get any picutres of us crossing the line :(. . . but we can remember how tired we were by looking at the picture above.
I took a few photos with my cell phone while I was running. This is around mile 23. It was such a beautiful place to race. I kept getting distracted by the scenery. It is also interesting to note how much space is inbetween all the runners as compared to the next shot.
Thsi shot was taken about a half mile into the run. If you look closely you will see white all alont the entire road until it is completely out of site. There were over 2200 runners, and I was in the back :)
Thus us a shot of everyone waiting at the slow end. They had flags marking people's goals starting at 6 minute mile pace and ending at 10 minute mile pace. I was looking for the 11 and 12 minute mile markers. As it was, I came in with an extremely slow pace of about 11.45 minutes per mile. That includes two potty breaks, and one I had to stand in line for - that single break probably cost me 7 seconds per mile.
I boarded the shuttle bus in Ogden at 4:45am. By the time we reached the starting line it was about 6:15. The sun was just coming up over the mountains. It was almost freezing cold, and we could see our breath. There were fire pits all over the place. A funny random thought - it was a cow pasture, and the fire pit I was standing by had holes in the bottom. The fire was slowly spreading through the cowpie pasture (because there was no dirt . . . just cowpie); it was a smoldering mess, but kept me entertained for the 45 minute wait before the race started.
These picures are from Friday. I wanted the kids to enjoy themselves while we were away. We stayed in a hotel, and this is the first time they have had an opportunity to stay in a hotel. It was fun for them, but we also wen to the mall by going to the arcade and getting Ainsley's ears pierced.
This is a picuture Corbin took while I was holding Ainsley while they pierced her ears. She only cried a little bit and was very brave. I still felt like a mean mommy :(
While we were waiting to get her ears pierced Ainsley was accessorizing her outfit. This two are my favorite looks.
At the Fun and Fitness expo the kids were dancing along with Radio Disney playing YMCA. This is where we picked up our registration packets for the races on Saturday.
The kids also climbed the rock wall. Hayden made it all the way to the top. I have included the video of it (sideways). There are also two pictures of the boys, Hayden is at the top and bot the boys are working on getting up the wall at the same time.

It was a fun weekend. I'm really glad that my mom and Gary came down to help out.

Weight a little bit ;)

Tonight I'm contemplating weight. After losing a bit, and getting down to a wonderfully healthy weight I find that I am more obsessive about my weight than I ever was before. Where five pounds used to be nothing, one or two now seems terrible. Don't get me wrong. I'm very happy with my body, but sometimes I wonder if I would be happier at a heavier weight. . .

But then I wouldn't be able to be as physically active as I am now. I can do things physically that I never thought possible five years ago. I guess its a tradeoff and I need to just relax and stop worrying that I'm going to get up to my previous size again.
