Girl's Night!

Ok, so I had a ton of fun with my girl friends tonight. It was great to get away from the kids and hubby for a few hours and just enjoy myself. I have to give cudos to Steve for making me laugh so hard thinking I was pranking him when he locked Emily out of the house and wouldn't wake up for three phone calls, several doorbell rings, or Emily's crazy loud whistle; by the time I got a hold of him on my cell phone I was laughing so hard I'm sure he didn't know what I was saying. . . Now after calming down a bit. . . I still have a weird urge to be called a Spider Monkey :)

Since the kids were at Audrey's house, I had to wake them up to bring them home. It was Ainsley's turn to say family prayer. She was sooooo cute. Then I tucked the kids in their beds and kissed them all. It was such a great way to end a wonderful night!

Wow How Time Flies

The kids went trick-or-treating with their cousins. From Left to Right: Ainsley as a Rock Star, Delton as Spiderman, Corbin as James Bond, Hayden as Indiana Jones, Morgan as a Corpse Bride's Maid, and Caden as Batman.

All three kids got a truckload of candy. They went to two trunk-or-treats, the Tooele city Halloween Carnival, and then on Upland Drive for Halloween. I think that next year, I will only let them go to one place. I think my kids teeth will rot. . .

I should be wearing wings because I am sure that I have flown through time faster than superman. It seems like Halloween came like lightning and then has gone in a flash. I love dressing the kids up for halloween, and it is always so much fun to make everyone's costumes. If I ever get batteries for my camera I will download some better pics of the kids costumes. They are adorable!

BOOK PARTY!

I'm so excited to be planning my book party next week. It is on Thursday, Oct 23, 2008 at 7pm at my house. Everyone who wants to come can. It is for Usborne Book publisher. They publish childrens books of all sorts. So, look for your invitation to come in the next couple days :)

Sick day. . .

I can't believe I am actually posting two days in a row. When I got home from Young Women's (about 9:15) last night, Ryan said Ainsley had thrown up 7 times in the last 2 hours. She was pale and exhausted. I felt so bad for her :( By the time I was home she was dry heaving. We started pushing pedialite on her, and she drank a ton. She threw up about four more times through the night, and slept in mommy's bed, so needless to say I didn't get any sleep. I dragged my but out of bed and went to work at 7am, but when Ryan told me that she woke up with really bad diarrhea I decided to come home so he could go to work. She acted fine, but went to the bathroom about once an hour until about 1pm.

I got so much done!!!! I finished almost all my homework for the week. I got some things done for work today. My laundry is almost completely washed, dryed, and folded. Some of it has been in my laundry room for a couple months. The kids actually have their homework done and in their backpacks for the morning, and we spent some quality time watching a movie together (and folding laundry).

It is days like this when I really wish I could be a stay at home mom. The only thing that would have made it better was if I could have made it to play group this morning. I am so grateful I have the job I do. Where I can be home when my kids are home or take a sick day when I need to.

Wow. . .

We went to the Weezer concert last night and it was AMAZING!!!! Thanks to Emily and Audrey who kept my kids for so long. Ryan and I really bonded. I get so crazy at concerts, but this one was worth it! My favorite part was right after the Hootenanny everyone cleared the stage. The crowd started chanting "WEEZER! WEEZER! WEEZER!" A techy came onstage and put a record player in the center, and then put a red Weezer record on and started the track. It started playing Heart Songs. Then at the part where the song comes to singing about the Nirvana album Rivers comes out and kicks over the record player and starts playing Nirvana's Sliver. Being almost 10 years older than most of the people on the floor, Ryan and I were the only ones totally rocking out to the song. It was incredible - and I don't think I have ever head banged that hard before! So much fun!!! (now, being as old as I am - I am terribly sore :))

New Day :)

Today was a new beginning for me. I am getting into the swing of working again. School starts in two days, so I am getting used to getting up in the morning. I woke up at 4:30 so I could workout and read my scriptures with Audrey. It was a great way to start the day. The boys are really excited to start school. Ainsley is loving playing at the Bryar's all the time. Life is good :)

Happy Mother's Day

Life is what you make of it. Usually Mother's Day is a dreaded day in our house. I always get frustrated with having to get the kids ready for church by myself and Ryan forgetting the day is even arriving. This year Ryan actually remember early enough to get a gift. It was thoughtful too, an armband for my Zune (mp3 player), which I have wanted for a while, but couldn't get myself to spend the money on it.

The boys both smothered me with hugs and loves this morning, and they are finally old enough to think unselfishly, and they kept it up the whole morning. I took time for myself by doing my hair and makeup - more than the usual five minute routine, and it was okay for Ainsley's hair to just be combed and not up in pigtails for the day.

We came home from church to have TV dinners, and the boys made magic cookie bars that were 120 calories each - mmmmmmm good. Ryan came home from work in a good mood. I couldn't have asked for a better day. Life is good.

Gardening

The boys were so excited for Garden Club meeting today. It was the registration meeting tonight where they signed up for their planting time. It is so fun to watch them get excited about gardening. We did the Youth Garden for two years, and couldn't find the time to do it last year, and they really missed it. I am actually excited, except for the part where they each want their own plot which is 10'x15' instead of sharing one. That means alot more work for Mommy and Ainsley helping to weed. I am excited none the less.

I want to plant my own garden this year, but I am a little scared I wont have time. We'll see. I heard somewhere once that there is such a thing as spreading yourself too thin, and I really want to be thinner :)

Beautiful Rain

I walked out of work today in the middle of a beautiful rain shower. The clouds were majestically rolling down the canyons. The sky was a multitude of shades of gray. Everything was wet with brilliance and seemed illuminated just by the sheer fact that it's spring. I love living in the mountains! I feel so blessed to see this beautiful sight.

On a different note, you know when your two year old watches too much TV when . . .

Ainsley was watching Spongebob Squarepants the other day. Ryan needed to leave for work, so he said to her, "Are you ready kid?" (In case you are not familiar with this show - this is the first line in the theme song.) And she responded with, "I can't hear you." (which is one the next lines). It was very cute!

New Classes and other stuff

Today is the first day of my Summer semester. In order to qualify for my scholarship I have to take an extra class over this semester. Ugh! So the two classes I am taking this term require alot more work than any of the others I have taken. This wouldn't be so bad, but there is a month of school left, and I am already stretched. I will probably find that I am way more productive.

On another note I fixed my bicycle over the weekend, and enjoyed a lovely ride with my family yesterday. The boys are finally big enough to faster and it was much more fun that in years past and trying to keep my 26" in bike slow enough for a 16" bike to keep up with. It was great to see everyone happy together, even my husband. Being outside is truely where our family comes together.

I forgot how much I love to cycle. I have a couple of (very used) bike trailers, so if anyone is interested in going for a ride some time, let me know. I am not a serious cyclist, but I love to get out once in a while.

I have recently been introduced to the Fablehaven series, and after finishing the first book I was hooked. I love reading stories about children, especially girls, who find themselves powerful and on incredible adventures. It is a wonderful escape session.

I think we are going to have a family home evening on taking care of our bodies to help the kids get more excited about playing outside (they are video game addicts). I think I could write forever today because I am avoiding all the homework looming over my head. :)

Roller Coaster Day

I fell aslep on the couch last night and woke up late for work. It was a somewhat frustrating, and so without the bed I woke up on the wrong side. It took me all day to shake it off. After waisting the entire day at work, I spent some time regrouping and was able to get alot done after my students left. It is amazing what productivity can do for the mood. I came home feeling incredibly motivated. The boys and I watched Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium. It was great spending time with them!

Hopefully I can keep it going tomorrow. I am looking forward to putting in our fence. With any luck I will have the motivation to at least get all the posts dug. :)

Wow 11 years

So today I am sitting here missing my hubby who is at work while I celebrate a quiet anniversary alone :(

It has been an amazing time. I feel very reflective at this moment remembering all our ups and downs together. Still love conquers all and our relationship remains constant through it all.

Well here I go
